THE GIRLS... Our Babies were born on 12/1/96, in the midst of the '96 Northern California devastating Floods, in Oroville, CA. (about 60 miles northeast of Sacramento). Going to 'Pick them out' wasn't to bad - the Floods hadn't reached the area where they were born yet! Going to bring them home - was another story! We left San Francisco on Interstate 80 EAST to Interstate 5, where we had to go North to just about 25 miles South of Mt. Shasta. There we took a two-lane road east. About 20 miles later, we came to a blocked road - a tree had fallen across it. Two hours later, we were once again on the road. About an hour and a half later, we arrived at our point of destination, called the breeder and about 30 minutes later, WE HAD OUR BABIES! Then, it was back to San Francisco, admiring our new acquisition all the way.

This is my first time with TWO dogs (not Michael's), and BOXERS at that! People say BOXERS are a special breed! We think it's the people that BOXERS own that are the special breed. These people come running up to us and go really bananas over our Babies. Makes it hard to train them not to jump up on people - especially ZOE who thinks that she HAS to kiss everyone that

she sees all the time anyway. Not that we mind all of the attention (the girls certainly don't). We both go ape whenever we see another dog period, but to have someone double park their car, jump out, come running up to our babies to say hi! Well, it's sort of embarrassing.

We do have to say, that BOXERS are more demonstrative of their love, than any other dog either of us has owned (Cocker, Dachshund, Doberman, Basset, and Scottish Terrier)! They will smother us for a good five minuets whenever we come home, or take them for a ride, to the beach - whatever!

It was while vacationing in the Chelsea district of New York City, that we decided on BOXERS - thus the name Dame Chelsea de Swenetta. Madam Zoe de Swenetta came about because Michael just liked the name (so he says, I think he knows a palm reader somewhere).

Well, it has now been two years since we brought the PRECIOUS Babies home. And I would do it ALL OVER AGAIN. As I said earlier, this is my first experience owning two dogs. I don't know whether or not it is because they are littermate sisters, or if it would be the same with any two dogs, but living with these two dogs is very enjoyable.

Watching them interact with each other is such a pleasure. They have never fought - they get angry with each other - but a load growl is all.

Watching them eat or drink out of the same bowl - at the same time (at times when just their tongues fit) - is a hoot!

Watching them carry the same deflated soccer ball together, while they 'skip' around, is a delight.

I admit there were times when we were trying to house train them that I asked myself "what have I gotten myself into?" But YES, I would most certainly do it again!
