Week 1

June 15, 1999

My first family called me Clay. My name now is Sammy! I am 2 years old. And do I love to play! My original family got rid of me, because they had no time for me. My second family got rid of me because they say I piddled.

I love people! Ask Rod, he keeps asking me if I supply towels with my kisses. I know the basic commands, I just want someone - like Rod and Michael- to make me listen, when they say SIT! I SIT! or STAY! or DOWN! I even know SHAKE! I have a short very silky fur and a very precious face - one that says "Am I doing it right? Huh, am I?". I was fixed - never knew I was out of order - when I was 6 months old.

Some say I have a very ugly ear job and that they should 'fix' them. Rod and Michael say it adds to my character, leave them alone. What do you think?

June 18, 1999

Today, we all got into the truck and went for a ride.

Chelsea and Zoe kept saying we were going to go some place very special - the just knew it! Yes, today, we went to Chelsea's and Zoe's favorite place. They have been telling me all about it. So when we got there, and Rod opened the top tail gate, I was so exited, I jumped out! Good thing Rod is fast! He caught me as soon as I hit the ground (told me I was a BAD DOG!). But I was so excited! Soon I learned what the beach was all about as Rod walked us into this marvelous soft stuff. Soon Chelsea started zooming around - next thing I knew, I was too! We even went into what Chelsea and Zoe call 'the BIG POND' - it was fun, but buuurrrr it was cold! Then Zoe started digging - and Rod didn't yell at her. You know what Chelsea and Zoe are right - it is a lot of fun!

June 20, 1999

Today we went to the beach again. I don't know which is more fun, playing with Chelsea and Zoe, or going to the beach! I guess I'll take the beach - 'cause I can play with Chelsea and Zoe there too!
