Week 3

May 27 - , 1999

Again! No PICTURES! Anyone out there want to come take pictures of me?

May 29, 1999

Today we really had another treat. Rod and Michael took Chelsea, Zoe and ME on another long ride (usually we just go a few blocks) What fun! When we finally stopped, Chelsea and Zoe told me about the place where we were. They had been here once - with Riley. And they never saw Riley again! I got nervous!

They put me in this pen all by myself. There was another baby on one side of me - his name was Max. He was really big. Turns out only one of his parents was a Boxer the other was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. In the cage on the other side of me - I wish I was in that one - there were four babies, Buddy (4 months old), Betty (2 1/2 years old), Sally (1 1/5 years old) and Tyson (2 years old). Then on the other side of them, there were two other Boxer mixes, one was Barkley; I didn't catch the other one's name. And on the other side of them were Nala (6 months old) and Axle.

Lots of people came by. Soon, Barkley was gone! Everyone was saying "lucky boy, he found a HOME!" I said "I already have a GREAT home, what am I doing here?" The others told me that I was only in a temporary home, called a Foster Home. One day - maybe today - I would find myself a HOME to call my own. Soon, Tyson was taken out of his pen. Awhile later, he was back and I was being taken out of my pen! Was I to be a "lucky boy" too?

No, I didn't become a "luck boy" today. But don't tell anyone - this is just between you and me. OK? I AM A LUCKY BOY! I have Chelsea and Zoe to play with all day long. And when I sleep, I can use one or the other as a pillow. And that Rod and Michael, they give me lots of loving - let me KISS THEM! (I wasn't allowed to do this before. Can you imagine a Boxer not kissing a human?)

These girls make the best pillow.
