Week 1

May 13, 1999

I am about one and a half years old. I am fawn with a small patch of white on my chest, under my chin and all toes. My ears are natural. And right now, I still have my dew claws and manhood. I know the basic commands: sit, down, come. However it is really hard for any human to call me, since they don't have any idea what my name is; but fortunately I do answer to boy! I am a little under weight - about 10 pounds. I am very possessive - I have marked every square foot of the yard. I can also jump fences - none around here though! Rod says thank GOD for DOGS - I'll second that! I also say thank GOD for people. I just love them.

I am about 10 pounds under weight.

A face anybody could love!

My chest contains a little white.

My belly

My front paws

My hind paws

Since they don't know my name, they keep me on a leash

If I didn't have this awful cough and leash on, I'd have those girls run ragged!

Boy are those humans in trouble now. One for all and all for one!

Today when Rod came out of the shower, he called 'SPARKY!'. Guess what? I knew that name. I started wagging my tail. Then I was kidney beaning. So, now they are calling me SPARKY. It's not my real name, but I will answer to it.

That's me in the middle! Gee it's fun being the only male in a house with two beautiful girls!

May 15, 1999

Today was one of those days humans call a weekend (Rod stayed home), so Chelsea and Zoe say that after breakfast we will get to go to their favorite place. I don't know what they are talking about. They say I will love it! Yep! You guessed it - THE BEACH!

Are you allowed to that? Only here!

So this is the BEACH!

I like it! I like it!

No, the wet stuff is this way.

I'm no fool! I'm not budging until I go for a ride in style!

Also today, the gentleman next door started talking to me - I KNEW WHAT HE WAS SAYING. SI! SI! Yo habla Espanol! I said back to him in my low masculine voice and kidney beaned all over the place!

After the beach, and resting we played some more than it was rest time again.. I think I like this place.

Resting after a fun day at the beach

I' ready for my close up, Mr. Demill

It's hard being a photo object

Rough day: beach, play, dinner.....zzzzz

May 16, 1999

Today - because of something called 'Bay to Breakers', we didn't go to the beach. Rod and Michael said it would be a zoo! I wanted to go see all the animals! But, alas we went for a walk around the reservoir that is across the street from where I am now living. When we got home, THE GIRLS and I played!

We played on the bed

We played outside

Here I am doing what I love to do!

I don't care who sees me! I gotta mark!

Yes, this is MY YARD NOW!

Guess what? I got to run around off leash with Zoe. To bad Rod didn't bring his camera outside with him We ran and boxed and ran and boxed and then we ran some more. We had lots of fun!

May 17, 1999 - May 19, 1999

No pictures were taken of me these few days - had to fire the photographer, he kept forgetting his camera. On Monday, May 17, after picking up Rod after work, we stopped at a place where there were lots of other dogs, all barking. I thought WOW, party time! I couldn't see all the barking dogs - I did see two or three. Rod took ME out of the truck (he made Chelsea and Zoe STAY!)! I was really excited now. I was going someplace Chelsea and Zoe weren't! We went into this building - there were lots of friendly people walking around. Rod put me on this wiggly contraption. Made me SIT! Then said 60.5 pounds. Than it was back into the truck - what a let down. Chelsea and Zoe were very happy to see me! They gave me lots of kisses. I told them what happened. They said, "Oh, he just weighed you. You weigh 60.5 pounds." Then they started teasing me - "Nah, Nah -- we weigh more than youou!" So I said "Ha Ha Ha - YOU'RE FAT!" They ran to get some love'n from Michael and Rod.

I don't remember what the exact day was, but one morning when Michael got ready to take Rod to work, and it was time for THE GIRLS to go into THEIR kennel, and ME into MINE, I said "Enough! Why should I be in a kennel all by my self!" So I just headed into THE GIRLS kennel! I thought I would really get it! But, no! Michael just closed the door. Gave us our treats. Said be good babies, be right back! So! I've been going in their ever since! It's so nice having THE GIRLS touching me! I feel like one of the family!
