Week 1 - February 28 - March 6, 1999

Due to all the commotion at the Vet's, we all forgot about the Kennel Cough pills. So, Monday morning, Riley started coughing. We didn't think much about it until Amy contacted me Tuesday via AIM and asked if he was coughing. Things clicked. Amy said that she would FEDX the pills. THE GIRLS had received the Bordatella shot in July but because we wanted to be sure they were still protected, we immediately called our vet, and made an appointment for. The vet said the shot was like a flu shot. Sometimes it lasts a year, other times it doesn't even take. So he gave THE GIRLS a booster.

During the week, we started brushing Riley's teeth and rubbing them with cotton soaked in peroxide. Today, two teeth are coming through!

The bumps on Riley's paws are going away.

At the Vet's we weighed Riley = 50 pounds

The first 'eruption' came when we fed the three babies in the kitchen at the same time. THE GIRLS are used to sharing everything. Drinking out of the same bowl at the same time. Licking the plates after diner at the same time. Licking the 'rice bowl' after ice cream or jello at the same time. Riley on the other hand thought that every bowl of water and every morsel of food was the last on Earth. The next 'eruption' came while Chelsea and Riley were licking the same plate. Suddenly there was a short burst of growls. We put Riley down, hand on his throat, eyes two inches from his, and yelled NO! Since then and due to the fact that Riley now realizes that there is plenty of water and food, the three have been sharing, tonight all three licking the same plate at the same time!

THE GIRLS have become like mothers to Riley - Chelsea more so. Zoe is a little upset that Riley won't play.

Riley is like a shadow with ESP - as soon as we get up to move even 2 feet, he is there before us. He will not go far outside, looking back every few feet to ensure that one of us is still there, as if that is how he got into his predicament. He is also a ham! Just sees the camera and stares. While walking on leash, he heeled without being told (until he realized that THE GIRLS had the freedom to roam). We ran a bit with him; he heeled right along side.

Yesterday a female friend came over to see Riley. He was in heaven, as if his first owner was a female.

Hurry up and take the picture, we're saying cheese!

I want up too!
